Dionne Smith is a globally acclaimed Celebrity Hairstylist celebrated for her award-winning artistry and trailblazing presence in the beauty industry. Recently appointed as a Freelance Contributing Expert for Cosmopolitan UK, Dionne continues to revolutionise the field.

Before joining Cosmo, Dionne conceptualised and pitched the groundbreaking feature “Ones to Watch,” now a celebrated series prominently showcased in print, online, across social media platforms, and on London’s iconic underground.

Her illustrious portfolio includes standout projects such as London to Paris Fashion Weeks and styling Natasha Rothwell for The White Lotus press tour. Dionne is also the mastermind behind the show-stopping red-carpet looks of Golda Rosheuvel, famed for her role as Queen Charlotte, elevating editorial and event appearances with her signature expertise. Her elite clientele includes luminaries like Teyonah Parris, Wunmi Mosaku, and Bethany Antonia.

Dionne’s talent has shone at prestigious events such as the BAFTAs and The Emmys, and her creative works grace the pages of esteemed publications including Vogue, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, OK!, and Tatler.

Renowned for her precision and innovative approach, Dionne specialises in styling all hair types, with a particular mastery of coily and curly textures. Her ability to transform hair into works of art has earned her a reputation as a true visionary.

Beyond styling, Dionne has made her mark in product development, collaborating with Dyson to create the revolutionary Wide-Tooth Comb attachment. She has also partnered with leading brands such as Aveda, L’Oréal, GHD, and Shark Ninja, sharing her expertise to drive innovation in the beauty space.

Lola Maja

Lola Maja has worked in the beauty and film industry for over 30 years, earning multiple awards and nominations including “Best Makeup Artist” and a “Lifetime Achievement for Contribution to The Industry.” She was also named one of the “Top 100 Inspiring Women in Nigeria.”

Her qualifications span Beauty & Holistic Therapies, Perfumery Blending, Special Effects, Prosthetics Makeup, and Adult Further Education, with a strong focus on inclusivity and mentoring the next generation.

In 2010, Lola launched Sacred Lashes, the first Nigerian-owned lash brand. She went on to open two full-service salons, a training academy, and in 2015 created The SFX Store, the first dedicated Film & TV makeup retailer in Nigeria and West Africa. The store represented and imported major international brands, filling a vital gap in the market.

After returning to the UK, Lola focused on education and consulting, working with beauty startups and training institutions. She taught at the Bath Academy of Media Makeup and provided students with hands-on experience on productions such as Amazon Prime’s Jungle, Paramount+’s The Serial Killer’s Wife, and a range of short films now touring global festivals.

In 2025, she became Head of Education for the Tones of Beauty Exhibition and Conference, the UK’s first B2B event dedicated to multicultural beauty, held at London’s Excel Centre. She also designed the curriculum for Lagos’ KAP Film Academy, supported by Netflix and the University of Southern California.

Her artistry has been featured in Vogue Italia and Forbes, and she hosted Kiss & Makeup on AMC International’s EVA+, broadcast across Africa. In 2018, she fronted Lancôme’s West Africa campaign.

Across three decades, Lola has collaborated with an extraordinary range of talent, including Iman, Ciara, Raheem Sterling, Danny Glover, Sarah Niles, David Harewood OBE, Steve Toussaint, Ray Fearon, Alex Wek, Oluchi, Angelique Kidjo, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Temi Otedola, Tyson Beckford, Billy Ocean, Dru Hill, Teddy Riley, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Funmi Fetto, Ibukun Awosika, Eva Omaghomi OBE, Shalom Lloyd MBE, Mo Abudu, and many others.

Lola’s enduring career reflects her versatility, innovation, and influence across fashion, beauty, film, and music. She continues to inspire, educate, and shape the industry while empowering others to embrace creativity and inclusivity.
